A further update on Roman Reigns' upcoming schedule has emerged.

Following a promo over the weekend in which Reigns revealed he might not be back in Trenton, New Jersey, as he is 'starting a new phase' in his life, it emerged that the WWE Universal Champion had signed a new deal with Vince McMahon's organisation that allows him to work far fewer dates.

It then emerged that Reigns was only advertised for the Money In The Bank and SummerSlam pay-per-views throughout July and August, which appeared to suggest The Tribal Chief would be taking time off in a couple of months.

That reportedly isn't the case, though, and Andrew Zarian of the Mat Men Pro Wrestling Podcast tweeted that Reigns is not expected to take 'extended time off' and he will be on WWE TV and at pay-per-views. He won't, however, be performing on WWE's smaller marker house shows.

'Spoke to someone over at WWE regarding Roman & his schedule moving forward. It's not expected for Roman to take extended time off. He will be on PLEs & TV. The only change will be with smaller market house show, which is why he showed his gratitude to the fans in Trenton NJ,' Zarian tweeted.

Reigns has been WWE's undisputed top star since he returned from hiatus at SummerSlam 2020. He defeated Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 38 to become the WWE Universal Champion
