Report: Roman Reigns Vs. The Rock Could Happen At WWE WrestleMania 38

A big, big match next April?

A big match between Roman Reigns and The Rock could reportedly happen as soon as next year's WrestleMania.

A bout between The Rock and his cousin, Reigns, has been speculated about for a number of years. With Reigns embracing a new, heel character and doing the best work of his career, a match between him and 'The Great One' has been rumoured for a coming WrestleMania.

With WrestleMania 39 in 2023 set to emanate from Hollywood, many assumed that WWE would wait until then to put on the match, with The Rock now considered the world's biggest movie star.

However, Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio says the match could happen as soon as WrestleMania 38, in Texas, if The Rock can make it work with his schedule.

Regardless, Meltzer believes the bout will definitely happen at one of the next two WrestleManias, citing a belief that it is a match that The Rock really wants to do.

He said: "Obviously The Rock and Roman Reigns is something that they’re building towards and it would be...every year gets tougher and tougher because Dwayne gets a year older and, you know, but I think he really wants to do a match against Roman Reigns.

"I think for sure it’ll be in next two WrestleManias, and if he can pull it off, the next WrestleMania."
