Report: Ronda Rousey 'Leaving' WWE Following SummerSlam

Ronda Rousey is apparently gone from WWE

Ronda Rousey won't be around to avenge her loss to Shayna Baszler at SummerSlam.

According to WrestlingNews.co, Ronda Rousey will be leaving WWE following tonight's pay-per-view and her return date to the company is unknown.

"Ronda Rousey will be leaving WWE after tonight. Return date unknown," WrestlingNews.co tweeted.

Ronda Rousey's second WWE run began at Royal Rumble 2022, with the Baddest Woman on the Planet making her return in the Women's Royal Rumble Match, a match she went on to win. This kicked off a programme with Charlotte Flair for the SmackDown Women's Championship, a programme Rousey ended up winning at Backlash following a loss at WrestleMania 38. This kept Rousey in the SmackDown Women's Title picture for the remainder of the year in feuds with Liv Morgan and Shotzi before Ronda dropped the belt back to Charlotte Flair just before the end of 2022.

Rousey has been involved in the tag team division in 2023, holding the Women's Tag Team Titles with Shayna Baszler briefly until Baszler turned on her fellow Four Horsewoman of MMA at Money in the Bank, dropping the belts to Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez in the process.

The betrayal led to an MMA Rules Match at SummerSlam which Baszler won, seemingly ending Rousey's time on WWE TV in the process. Rumours of Rousey stepping away from WWE first emerged in early July.
