Report: Rumour Killer On Buddy Matthews Being Suspended By AEW

Buddy Matthews was not suspended, it seems

Buddy Matthews has had a mixed run in All Elite Wrestling so far and the former WWE Cruiserweight Champion was missing from the promotion throughout July.

Internet rumours had suggested that Buddy Matthews was actually suspended during July, but PWInsider have confirmed that was not the case. Instead, Matthews had to return to Australia to process his work visa so he could continue to perform in the United States. Matthews performed for World Series Wrestling in Australia during his time in the country, facing the likes of Brian Cage, Alex Zayne, and Alexander Hammerstone.

Matthews last appeared in AEW at Rampage Grand Slam where he and Brody King lost to Sting and Darby Allin following interference from The Great Muta. The House of Black member announced at an independent wrestling event over the weekend that he would be taking time off to recalibrate.

Reports have noted that Matthews actually wants to return to WWE but he seemingly will have to remain in All Elite Wrestling, with Tony Khan having introduced a new 'no releases' doctrine.
