WWE held their first pay-per-view since WrestleMania 39 on Saturday, May 6 as the company presented Backlash from San Juan, Puerto Rico.

The show featured several major matches, including Cody Rhodes vs. Brock Lesnar, Seth Rollins vs. Omos, and a San Juan Street Fight between Bad Bunny and Damian Priest which featured appearances from Carlito and Savio Vega.

Rumours ahead of Backlash suggested a stretcher job and ambulance spot was planned for Backlash but Fightful Select reported that was not the case. Ambulances were not mentioned on WWE's internal plans for the show and every prop used at Backlash had to be cleared by Triple H, along with additional clearances in Puerto Rico.

Puerto Rico appears to have gone down well with WWE talent as the host of a pay-per-view. Several noted they were late to Backlash but they put over the atmosphere, crowd, environment, and the overall experience. WWE were also said to be "ecstatic" with the San Juan Street Fight between Bad Bunny and Damian Priest.
