Report: Sammy Guevara Injured On AEW Dynamite

Sammy Guevara reportedly suffered injury during his TNT Championship ladder match with Scorpio Sky

After dropping the AEW TNT Championship to Scorpio Sky in an hellacious ladder match on the April 27 edition of AEW: Dynamite, it is now being reported that Sammy Guevara suffered an injury during the bout.

The report comes from The Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer, who stated that Guevara hurt his neck and back after a ‘630 bodyblock’ (more like an over-rated corkscrew moonsault variation) from the top of the ladder, with Guevara only glancing Scorpio Sky before crashing into the mat.

The report claims that Guevara claimed he was okay but hurt his neck and his back, with the speed he came down on the move being so fast that Sky couldn’t break his fall, causing Guevara to land on his neck and his left shoulder.

Meltzer says there’s no word on the severity of the injury, nor if Guevara will miss any time. Guevara himself has confirmed he will still be at AAA’s upcoming TripleMania XXX: Monterey show, where he is due to team with fiancée Tay Conti vs. Maravilla & Látigo and Sexy Star II & Octagón Jr. in a three-way mixed-tag match.
