Report: Samoa Joe Suffered Concussion On WWE Raw
Bad news for The Samoan Submission Machine...
Jan 29, 2020
On this week's episode of Monday Night Raw, Kevin Owens & Samoa Joe continued their budding alliance as they challenged Seth Rollins & Buddy Murphy for the Raw Tag Team Championships.
During the match, Joe hit Murphy with a Tope Suicida but landed on his head. The former United States Champion grabbed the back of his head straight away and took some time getting back to his feet. After returning from an advert break, Joe had been removed from the match but many believed it was a work.
However, it was confirmed soon after that The Samoan Submission Machine had been
legitimately injured. Details were scarce about the injury itself, but
Dave Meltzer has now confirmed on Wrestling Observer Radiothat Joe suffered a concussion. There is currently no timescale as to when the former IMPACT star will return, but Meltzer speculated it could be anywhere from a week to six months.
Meltzer said: "The belief is that Joe has a concussion which is obviously not a good thing. That’s not 100% but that was the belief as of a couple of hours ago…The concussion is kind of that unpredictable injury where he could be back next Monday or he could be back in six months, you just don’t know."
