Report: Sasha Banks & Bianca Belair Cleared For WWE SummerSlam

The match will be on the card

The SmackDown Women's Championship match between Sasha Banks and Bianca Belair at SummerSlam is set to go ahead as planned.

There was concern earlier this week within WWE that the match would be pulled from the August 21 pay-per-view after Belair and Banks missed Saturday and Sunday's house shows due to "unforeseen circumstances."

Those concerns have seemingly been alleviated and Mike Johnson of PWInsider has reported that both Belair and Banks are "cleared" to compete. With the exception of "something unforeseen", they will be making appearances at Friday Night SmackDown and then SummerSlam the following day.

Saturday's title match will be Belair and Banks' second championship match of the year. They previously went one on one at WrestleMania 37, where The Blueprint dropped the SmackDown Women's Championship to Belair in the main event of night one. Banks then went on hiatus following The Showcase Of The Immortals and she returned on July 30 to restart the rivalry.

During Banks' absence, Belair successfully defended the title against former champions Bayley and Carmella.
