Report: Scrapped WWE Plans For Chelsea Green Revealed

After disappearing from WWE TV in May, Chelsea Green debuted on Friday Night SmackDown on November 13 in a Fatal 4-Way. Green broke her wrist during the match, though, and is currently on the shelf following surgery. 

Green was reportedly called up to the main roster as far back as May, but her return didn't materialise until six months later. 

Fightful Select reported that WWE creative pitched a storyline for the former IMPACT Knockouts Champion months before she eventually returned. The angle would have seen Green and Mickie James emulate Mickie's "obsessed fan" storyline with Trish Stratus from 2005 and 2006. Green would have been cast as James' biggest fan while Mickie would have found herself in the same position as Stratus was 15 years ago. The storyline reportedly had a "pretty solid plan" and several people in creative were excited about it. 

James and Green even filmed content to start the angle but plans for the storyline were scrapped only hours before it was set to go on the air. 

Green didn't debut on SmackDown until months later.
