Seth Rollins might not be in Captain America: Brave New World anymore
Feb 1, 2024
Seth Rollins' role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe might suffer the same fate as Becky Lynch.
It was revealed in the Summer of 2023 that Seth Rollins had been cast in Captain America: Brave New World and the World Heavyweight Champion was spotted on the set of the movie. He is believed to have portrayed Cobra as part of the Serpent Society.
Since filming, though, extensive reshoots to the fourth Captain America movie have been ordered that are scheduled to take place from May until August 2024, according to Daniel Richtman. Leaker @CanWeGetToast has since reported that the Serpent Society has been completely removed from Brave New World which means Rollins will find his part in the movie on the cutting room floor.
The Serpent Society were reportedly scheduled for a major action set piece in the first act of Brave New World, similar to the previous two Captain America movies.
Becky Lynch was also previously scheduled to appear in the MCU in a post-credits scene of Eternals. The scene would have featured Lynch alongside Harry Styles but ended up being cut from the final product due to being "too depressing."
Former WWE talents to appear in the Marvel Cinematic Universe include Batista as Drax the Destroyer and David Otunga as a very brief love interest of She-Hulk. The late Shad Gaspard was also the body double for Black Panther in the first Black Panther movie.
