Report: Shane McMahon's WWE Raw Promo Went Exactly As Planned

Shane McMahon's promo alongside Braun Strowman on Monday Night Raw seemed to raise more than a few eyebrows.

The 'Prodigal Son' made a long-winded speech in Strowman's direction before eventually calling the former Universal champion stupid, but the manner of McMahon's delivery led to some concerns as to his health and well-being being expressed on social media.

However, according to Fightful Select, McMahon's promo went exactly as WWE planned it to and there was no screw up on the part of the 51-year-old. The reported idea is that McMahon's delivery would make him 'less likeable' in the eyes of the WWE Universe and therefore garner sympathy for Strowman. With that in mind, McMahon's method of delivery was executed deliberately and played out in that manner intentionally.

McMahon and Strowman have been entangled since the latter was denied an opportunity to enter the Elimination Chamber match for the WWE Championship last month. It seems almost certain that the two are set for a big one-on-one clash in the near future; potentially at WWE Fastlane but more likely at WWE WrestleMania 37.
