Report: Shayna Baszler Was Originally Booked To Defeat Becky Lynch At WWE WrestleMania 36

Vince McMahon changed his mind...

At WrestleMania 36, Shayna Baszler went one on one with Becky Lynch for the Raw Women's Championship. The two Superstars had been embroiled in a feud since Survivor Series 2019 and many expected The Queen Of Spades to leave The Showcase Of The Immortals as champion. Becky Lynch recently revealed she even pitched for Baszler to win the title but "plans change" and The Man retained the belt instead.

Fightful Select recently reported Shayna was originally booked to win at WrestleMania but Vince McMahon ultimately changed his mind. They noted the boss wanted the title change to take place in front of an audience and he didn't think it would be as effective if it was behind closed doors.

This would lead into WWE's original plans for The Queen Of Spades after losing to Lynch on The Grandest Stage Of Them All as Baszler was reportedly set to win the Money In The Bank Ladder match. She would have then feuded with Becky until SummerSlam, but those plans were scrapped after The Irish Lass Kicker announced she was pregnant.
