Report: Sonya Deville Set For Imminent WWE In-Ring Return

Deville hasn't competed since last August

Sonya Deville is reportedly expected to be returning to in-ring action for WWE in the very near future.

Deville hasn't competed since losing a 'Loser Leaves WWE' Match at SummerSlam 2020 to Mandy Rose, and has instead undertaken an on-screen official position since the start of 2021.

According to Fightful Select, however, WWE sources have indicated that Deville is expected to make a return to the ring very soon and could be back inside the squared circle 'imminently' if things go according to plan.

The indication to the WWE creative team has been to prepare for Deville's return, per the report, with there also being a significant push for Deville to be involved in the Women's Money In The Bank Ladder Match this coming Sunday. Indeed, the report suggests that, at one point, that idea had been pencilled in for the bout.

Images posted on social media have shown Deville training for an in-ring return but she herself has indicated in interviews that she is very happy in her current on-screen role in WWE.

The reports goes on to say that those within WWE have spoken glowingly of Deville for the way she has taken to her authority position in the last few months and how she's handled herself and a difficult personal situation over the past year.
