Report: Surprise Over How The Elite Voted When Deciding Between AEW & WWE

The Elite re-signed with AEW in recent weeks

The Elite of Hangman Page, Kenny Omega, and The Young Bucks all re-signed with All Elite Wrestling in recent weeks, with the deal being officially announced on August 2. The quartet have inked multi-year deals with the promotion and Omega and The Young Bucks remain Executive Vice Presidents in the promotion.

The Elite remaining with AEW wasn't a foregone conclusion, though, and it has emerged the faction made a pact to stick together. They then went 'back-and-forth' between choosing to stay with All Elite Wrestling or jumping ship to WWE, with votes apparently changing until they agreed to re-sign with AEW.

How the talents voted is unknown but one member of The Elite told Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter"You'd probably be surprised who voted where."

Votes were said to have changed depending on the emotions at the time until they all agreed to re-sign with AEW, with Tony Khan having made The Elite a strong offer that gave the faction confidence in how they would be booked. The AEW schedule was also said to be a key factor in them staying put.

Another member of The Elite said: "They've all been executed very, very recently. There were a lot of things to consider this time around, but we're all happy with how it ended up."

Contract negotiations were handled by agent Barry Bloom, who also represents Goldberg and Chris Jericho. Talks took months, though, and there was said to be a delay in the negotiations due to CM Punk's AEW return. Find out more here
