Report: Swerve Strickland To Be Gone From AEW 'For A While'

We might not see Swerve on TV for a while.

It could be some time before fans see AEW star Swerve Strickland on television, according to a new report.

Writing in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer noted that the former AEW World Champion will be out of action 'for a while'. Furthermore, when asking about Strickland's status for the WrestleDream pay-per-view on October 12, the term used was that he "might not" appear on the show.

WrestleDream will take place in Tacoma, Washington, which is where Swerve is from.

Meltzer added that MJF, who was also written out with an injury angle at All Out, will be gone for a long period of time as well. The 28-year-old will be filming a movie during his absence from AEW TV.

Strickland was defeated by Hangman Page in the very violent Unsanctioned Lights Out Steel Cage Match main event of All Out, which saw 'The Realest' take a lot of physical abuse, including a bump on a cinder block and being stuck with a hypodermic needle in the mouth.

Some criticised the violent nature of the match, resulting in Swerve himself defending its content.
