Report: Teddy Long Returning To WWE TV For The Draft

The odds of an impromptu tag match just increased dramatically

WWE Hall of Famer Teddy Long is set to return for the impending WWE draft, according to a new report.

PWInsider noted that Long was scheduled to be at tonight's SmackDown taping in Corpus Christi, Texas, as well as Monday's Raw taping. Both episodes will be centred around the WWE draft.

The report added that there was no word on what Long's role would be, or whether he would be a regular fixture going forward.

A former referee and manager, Teddy is best remembered for his tenure as SmackDown General Manager during the 2000s. Long worked for WWE between 1998 and 2014, when he was released following almost a year of inactivity.

He has since made sporadic appearances, the most recent of which was at Raw is XXX on January 23 (where he booked a six-man tag match). Long was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2017.

Also scheduled for tonight's episode of SmackDown is Sami Zayn & Kevin Owens defending the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Titles against The Usos, as well as Zelina Vega versus Sonya Deville.
