Report: Chris Jericho Serving As An Intermediary Between CM Punk & AEW Locker Room

Chris Jericho is trying to smooth things over ahead of CM Punk's return

All Elite Wrestling continue to make preparations for the return of CM Punk and a planned meeting between the 44-year-old and Chris Jericho reportedly took place in recent days. The meeting is believed to have went well and was "largely uneventful", especially considering the recent issues between Jericho and Punk. The inaugural AEW World Champion reportedly called Punk a "cancer to the locker room" after Brawl Out in September 2022, while Punk called Jericho a stooge in a since-deleted Instagram post from late March 2023.

In an update on the meeting, Dave Meltzer reported on Wrestling Observer Radio that Jericho is essentially serving as a go-between CM Punk and the AEW locker room.

"The idea of the meeting was that they were going to meet and then Jericho was going to talk to everyone else, which may have happened tonight [April 26], and, you know, basically try and smooth everything over," Meltzer said, before confirming that Jericho would be serving as an intermediary.

The belief is Jericho will likely be CM Punk's first feud when he returns to All Elite Wrestling in June. The Straight-Edge Superstar is reportedly scheduled to return on the inaugural episode of AEW Collision (AEW's rumoured third TV show) that will air on Saturday, June 17 from Chicago's United Center.

Punk's return will also reportedly lead to a roster split within AEW to separate Punk from talents who don't even want to be in the same building as him.
