Report: The Fiend Vs. Randy Orton May Still Take Place At WWE Royal Rumble 2021

Will we see the Firefly Funhouse Match after all?

Back on December 29, Ringside News reported that The Fiend and Randy Orton would continue their rivalry at Royal Rumble 2021 and square off in another gimmick match. Dave Meltzer later reported the tentative plan for the bout was a Firefly Funhouse Match.

The match appeared to be off, though, after Orton announced he would be entering the Men's Royal Rumble. The Fiend has also yet to appear since being set on fire at TLC.

The Fiend vs. Orton may well still take place at the pay-per-view, however. Dave Meltzer reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that The Viper declaring for the Rumble was planned to just be a red herring. He did note plans could have changed since then, though.

If the match will take place at the Rumble on January 31 ultimately remains to be seen. Check out the card for the pay-per-view below:
• Roman Reigns (c) vs. Adam Pearce - Universal Championship
• Drew McIntyre (c) vs. Goldberg - WWE Championship
• Men's Royal Rumble
• Women's Royal Rumble
