Report: The Great Muta To Be Inducted Into WWE Hall Of Fame

The Great Muta Is Reportedly Set To Be Inducted Into The WWE Hall Of Fame

The 2023 class of the WWE Hall of Fame is finally beginning to take shape following many weeks of fans asking when the announcements would start getting made. In the midst of Rey Mysterio becoming the first official inductee, as announced on the March 10 WWE SmackDown, there are reports of a further inductee too.

Per PWInsider, The Great Muta is set to be inducted this year, which comes after his retirement tour over the last few months which saw him take on WWE superstar Shinsuke Nakamura, team up with AEW’s Sting and Darby Allin, and compete against Tetsuya Naito and long-time friend and enemy, Masahiro Chono.

Although Muta never competed in WWE, he did appear in main rival WCW, notably competing for the NWA World Television Championship in a legendary feud against Sting, and also winning the WCW Tag Team Titles alongside Vampiro. WWE have often shown respect for the careers of those who competed outside the company when it comes to the Hall of Fame, in addition to those who made their name in WWE.
