Report: The Undertaker Originally Scheduled For WWE Elimination Chamber 2022 Appearance

Taker was officially revealed as the first name of WWE’s Hall of Fame 2022 class ahead of the show

Heading into Elimination Chamber 2022 it was revealed that the Undertaker will be the first inductee in to the WWE Hall of Fame class of 2022.

At Elimination Chamber, a lengthy career retrospective video was played honouring The Undertaker’s achievements, but a report from PWInsider states that ‘The Deadman’ himself was at one point scheduled to appear at the show in Saudi Arabia.

The report states that plans were dropped, and that the original plans were for nothing more than a cameo from Taker, as opposed to any specific wrestling angle.

Three of Undertaker’s last five matches happened at WWE Saudi Arabia supershows, with his last outing in Riyadh in 2020 seeing ‘The Phenom’ lift the Tuwaiq Trophy after defeating AJ Styles, Andrade, Bobby Lashley, Erick Rowan, and R-Truth in a gauntlet match.

Undertaker’s last match of his WWE career came at 2020’s WrestleMania 36, where Taker defeated AJ Styles in a ‘Boneyard Match’ on night one.

No other names have been announced for the 2022 WWE Hall of Fame thus far.
