Report: Tony & Shad Khan Interested In Buying Bellator

Tony & Shad Khan reportedly interested in buying Bellator

AEW President Tony Khan and father Shad Khan have allegedly eyed up making a move for MMA promotion Bellator, according to new reports.

Per MMA journalist Ariel Helwani on the MMA Hour, The Khan family were supposedly interested in buying the combat sports league from majority owners Paramount Global, although Helwani was quick to note that he is unsure to what degree the Khans were/are interested in making a move to buy the company.

Paramount Global have been majority owners of Bellator since 2011, and although they have not publicly announced their intentions to sell, it is known within the MMA world that the company is on the market, with the Professional Fighters League reportedly the most interested in taking the brand on.

Operating as the second largest MMA company in the USA behind the UFC, Bellator has been in business since 2008, and has seen current AEW star Jake Hager fight for them, as well as several other pro-wrestlers like former WWE Champion Bobby Lashley.
