Report: Top TNA Star Pitched For WWE Men's Royal Rumble

Recent editions of WWE's Royal Rumble event have seen the surprise inclusion of stars from TNA, and with an official partnership recently announced between the two companies, that looks to be the case again this year.

Mike Johnson of PWInsider has reported that there has been a pitch within WWE creative for a top TNA star to be in the Men's Royal Rumble Match. While Johnson doesn't know who the talent is, they claimed to have a hunch it will be Joe Hendry.

Hendry would indeed make sense, having recently captured the TNA World Championship from Nic Nemeth at Genesis. He also spent a period of time on the NXT brand last year, even challenging Ethan Page for the NXT Championship.

The inclusion of major TNA talent began at the 2022 Royal Rumble where Mickie James was part of the women's match while reigning as the Knockouts World Champion. Likewise, last year saw the same title represented in the 2024 edition of the match, with Jordynne Grace taking part.

The 2025 Royal Rumble is set to take place on February 1 in Indianapolis, Indiana. Both the men's and women's Royal Rumble bouts will feature on the card, as well as a ladder match for the Undisputed WWE Championship between Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens.
