Report: Update On Bret Hart's New WWE Deal

More on Bret Hart's new WWE deal

While numerous AEW talents had teased Bret 'The Hitman' Hart coming in, likely as FTR's manager, it emerged last week that All Elite Wrestling believe Hart is under contract with WWE on a lucrative deal that would prevent him from working shows for Tony Khan's promotion.

Some viewed the trophy presentation for the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament at Double Or Nothing as an obvious place for Bret to make his AEW return but The Hitman recently revealed he had never been asked about being a part of the pay-per-view.

In an update, Bret told Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that his new lucrative WWE contract was only a merchandising deal and wasn't for anything else with the company. If this affects Hart's ability to appear on AEW TV is still unknown, however.

Hart previously appeared in All Elite Wrestling at the promotion's inaugural show, Double Or Nothing 2019, when he unveiled the AEW World Championship. He will also manage FTR at an upcoming independent wrestling event.
