Report: Update On Carlito Possibly Re-Signing With WWE

Has Carlito re-signed with WWE?

There could be more to the story that Carlito has re-signed with WWE, according to a new report.

After Dave Meltzer (speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio) noted that the former Intercontinental Champion had pulled out of a booking with Great North Wrestling, Fightful's Sean Ross Sapp wrote on Twitter that Carlito had 'pulled from multiple upcoming indie dates'.

The 44-year-old is still due to appear at AIW Over The Line on June 17. However, he is not scheduled to wrestle at the event.

Carlito made a surprise return to WWE at this year's Backlash, helping Bad Bunny defeat Damian Priest in their San Juan Street Fight. A native Puerto Rican, Carlito received a huge ovation and his appearance quickly racked up millions of views across WWE's social media channels.

He had previously returned as a surprise entrant in the 2021 Royal Rumble match, which took place in front of no fans inside the WWE Thunderdome. He then worked a tag team match on Raw the following day.

Carlito's initial WWE run lasted from 2004 to 2010. In their statement announcing his release, WWE noted that Carlito had violated the company's Wellness Policy and refused to attend a rehabilitation facility.
