Report: Update On Chris Hero's AEW Status

Reported latest news on Chris Hero and AEW

It was reported over the weekend that former indy stand-out Chris Hero was working with All Elite Wrestling on a trial basis, with the former PWG World Champion working in a ‘backstage capacity’ for AEW.

A new report has shed a little more light on Hero’s trial run in the company, with PWInsider reporting that Hero worked the Ring of Honor tapings that took place directly after the recent debut edition of AEW Collision on June 17 in Chicago.

The report states that Hero was working as a producer/agent during the tapings, and was on the headset for several matches including the main event Chicago Street Fight between ROH Women’s World Champion Athena and Kiera Hogan.

Hero is reportedly in with AEW/ROH for ‘a few weeks’ after being suggested by producers already in AEW/ROH, and it remains to be seen if he becomes a full-time addition to the backstage set-up.

Formerly part of WWE NXT and NXT UK under the name Kassius Ohno, Hero hasn’t wrestled since his WWE release in 2020.
