Report: Chris Hero Working With AEW On Trial Basis

Chris Hero was backstage at AEW Collision

Ahead of AEW’s first ever Collision show last night, it emerged that Chris Hero (Kassius Ohno in WWE) would be backstage at the debut episode of AEW’s new show. It was believed to be in more of an official backstage capacity rather than as a surprise appearance planned for Collision, though. A report on Fightful Select has indicated that he may be having a “trial” period at AEW.

“Chris Hero is being looked at as a potential name to join All Elite Wrestling in at least a backstage capacity, Fightful Select has learned. We’ve been told that Hero was scheduled to be in town and was at least slated to be backstage at the AEW Collision debut in Chicago tonight, working with the company on a trial basis.”

Hero hasn’t stepped foot between the ropes in a match for quite some time following his WWE release all the way back in 2020, but recently revealed that he hasn’t closed the door on a return to the ring.
