Report: Update On Drew McIntyre Following WWE Return

McIntyre returned on Saturday

While Drew McIntyre was expected to be on the shelf for much longer and possibly miss WrestleMania 38, The Scottish Warrior returned from a neck injury after only four weeks on Saturday, entering the Men's Royal Rumble.

Irn Dru joined the match at #21 and he eliminated Madcap Moss, Happy Corbin and Dolph Ziggler on his way to being one of the final two participants in the match alongside Brock Lesnar. McIntyre wouldn't repeat his 2020 success, though, and he was eliminated following a Lesnar F5 to the floor.

In an update, Wrestling Observer's Dave Meltzer noted McIntyre has not fully healed from his neck injury but he is expected to be on WWE TV going forward. He won't be performing at WWE house shows for the time being, though, while he continues to heal from the injury.

Prior to taking time off for his neck problem, McIntyre had been one of WWE's most reliable stars on the house shows, often performing double duty, particularly during the company's holiday tour.
