Report: Update On Drew McIntyre's WWE Return

Drew McIntyre could be back on WWE TV very soon

Drew McIntyre's return to WWE TV might not be too far away.

The two-time WWE Champion has been off TV since he failed to capture the Intercontinental Championship at WrestleMania 39, with it emerging after the event that McIntyre was taking time off due to various injuries. It has since come to light that McIntyre's WWE deal is set to expire in early 2024, although WWE have the option to add on injury time. The two sides were said to be far apart on money and at odds over creative when it came to a contract extension.

It was noted in recent weeks that WWE want McIntyre back in the mix by Money in the Bank on July 1 but he wouldn't be back on TV until an agreement was reached over how McIntyre will be booked, with Irn Dru wanting to avoid "aimlessly floating" on TV with less than one year on his current contract.

Talks between Drew McIntyre and WWE may have since taken a positive turn as PWInsider Elite noted that many within WWE now believe McIntyre will be back "in the mix" by the UK tour and Money in the Bank. WWE's tour of the UK ahead of Money in the Bank is set to begin with a Raw house show on Wednesday, May 28 in Liverpool. The Raw brand will then hold two more house shows in Birmingham and Newcastle upon Tyne before the talents travel to London for Money in the Bank on July 1.
