Report: Update On "Heated Discussion" Between MJF & Tony Khan

While relations between MJF and Tony Khan appeared to be smooth, the pair had a "heated discussion" over the weekend following Friedman's interview with Ariel Helwani.

The issue didn't stem from anything MJF said in the interview, with it being noted that the problem was a result of Friedman setting up the chat without giving prior notice to All Elite Wrestling's PR team.  

In an update, Fightful Select noted Khan and MJF had a follow-up chat on Monday which went "much smoother." 

MJF reportedly remains frustrated over his contract situation in AEW, but Khan was more concerned about setting a precedent whereby AEW talent would set up interviews without going through the PR team. 

Fightful also noted that MJF and Khan have become good friends during their time working together since 2019.

Within the interview with Ariel Helwani, MJF touched on several topics, including his AEW deal, his love of Bruce Prichard, and his dislike of New Japan Pro-Wrestling. 

Friedman has been with AEW since the promotion was founded and he has established himself as one of the company's top stars.
