Report: Update On If WWE Plan To Release Sasha Banks & Naomi Following Raw Walkout

What next for Sasha Banks and Naomi in WWE?

An update on Sasha Banks and Naomi's future in WWE has emerged.

The Women's Tag Team Champions walked out of Monday's episode of Raw following a meeting with Vince McMahon over creative for the show and a contract issue.

Banks and Naomi were booked to be involved in a Six-Pack Challenge to crown a number one contender for the Raw Women's Title, a match which Naomi was scheduled to win ahead of her losing to Bianca Belair at Hell In A Cell. Sasha Banks was also reportedly planned for a programme with Ronda Rousey which The Boss would have lost, with the Women's Tag Team Championships very much being left in limbo.

Unhappy with plans, Banks and Naomi took issue with the Women's Tag Team Titles being de-emphasised and the company's booking of the tag division as a whole and ultimately opted to walk out.

As of the time of writing, Banks and Naomi remain under contract with WWE and they are still officially the Women's Tag Team Champions.

People backstage in WWE that Fightful Select talked to do not expect Banks or Naomi to be released but it was noted that 'nothing is a certainty.'

Sasha Banks has been with WWE since 2012 and she is a six-time women's champion on the main roster and one-time NXT Women's Champion. Along with her current reign with Naomi, she has also had two reigns as Women's Tag Team Champion alongside Bayley.

Naomi signed with WWE back in 2009. She is a two-time SmackDown Women's Champion and a former WrestleMania Battle Royal winner.
