William Regal Recalls Putting His Job On The Line For Sasha Banks
William Regal believed in Sasha Banks so much that he told WWE they could fire him if she didn't work out
During a recent appearance on The Sessions with Renee Paquette, William Regal revealed that he once put his job 'on the line' for Sasha Banks when he was working in WWE developmental territory NXT.
The revelation came as Regal was discussing Cesaro, who he named as another talent (along with Bryan Danielson that he was adamant the company sign.
Regarding The Boss, the former King of the Ring said:
"There’s only four people that I have ever gone to Mr. McMahon or to Triple H with whom I have said I put my reputation on. I put my job on the line once for Sasha Banks. She was somebody I went because I knew her, and my first thing on the job was to hire this lady. I said, 'If it doesn't work out, you can fire me'. She's not one of them. That was a separate thing".
When Regal was released by WWE in early January, Banks paid tribute to him by tweeting, 'There would be no Sasha Banks if it wasn't for @RealKingRegal thank you for giving me a chance and believing in me. Forever grateful'.
