Report: Update On Jay White's NJPW Status
Will Jay White be in the WWE Royal Rumble?
An update on Jay White's future with New Japan Pro-Wrestling has emerged.
The Switchblade's status has been the subject of speculation in recent days, with some tipping him to debut in WWE at the Royal Rumble on Saturday, January 28. According to Fightful Select, however, White is booked for NJPW shows after the Royal Rumble, suggesting he won't be making any WWE debut at the company's first major pay-per-view of the year.
Speculation about White's future swirled after he challenged Hikuleo to a Loser Leaves Japan Match at New Year Dash!! on January 5. No date has been announced for the match as of yet but New Japan have a number of big shows coming up in the next month.
The winner of the Loser Leaves Japan Match is currently unclear. White's long-term future has been a topic of conversation in recent years but WWE are reportedly interested in signing Hikuleo and the match could be used to write the giant out of New Japan.
