Report: Update On Johnny Gargano's WWE Status
The latest on Johnny Gargano’s status in WWE
Johnny Gargano has been used sparingly by WWE over the last several months, with the former NXT Champion only wrestling once on main roster TV since the end of March.
Reports suggested that Gargano has been injured and could miss WWE SummerSlam in August, and a new report from Fightful Select has potentially shed some more light on Gargano’s immediate future.
The report alleges that Gargano is no longer injured, and has been factored into creative plans by WWE. There’s no word on if Gargano has been medically cleared for an in-ring return just yet, and as such his status for SummerSlam remains up-in-the-air.
‘Johnny Wrestling’ was backstage at a recent Raw in his hometown of Cleveland, Ohio, but was not used on the show. A recurring shoulder injury is believed to have been keeping him out of the ring.
As seen on the July 10 edition of WWE Raw, The Miz and Bronson Reed teamed together to deliver a beatdown of Gargano’s former DIY partner Tommaso Ciampa, prompting fans to hope that this could lead to a full-time reunion for the storied former NXT Tag Team Champions.
