Amidst uncertainty around his future with All Elite Wrestling, an update on Kenny Omega's deal with the promotion has emerged.

According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Omega's contract with AEW has been extended due to time he missed through injury. The amount of time added to the 39-year-old's deal has not been finalised but Omega is still under contract. The former AEW World Champion was out of action from November 2021 until August 2022 due to multiple injuries that required surgery and rehab.

Meltzer noted that Omega's contract was set to expire on January 31 as he signed a four-year deal with the promotion that began on February 1, 2019. If AEW can add any time on for Omega's suspension following the backstage fight with CM Punk and Ace Steel at All Out 2022 is unknown.

Omega has been with AEW since the promotion was founded and he remains one of All Elite Wrestling's top stars. He is a former AEW World Champion, AEW World Tag Team Champion, and he is a reigning AEW World Trios Champion with The Young Bucks.

WWE reportedly believe they have a chance of signing Omega when his contract expires. Find out more here.
