The conclusion to AEW All Out 2022 saw MJF make his long-awaited return to the company, having been absent since the post-Double Or Nothing episode of Dynamite on June 1.

MJF and Tony Khan had previously fallen out over the nature of MJF’s deal, with ‘The Salt of the Earth’ wanting a significant pay increase without adding time on to his contract, which is set to end in 2024.

As heard at All Out, MJF was brought back in with Khan ‘agreeing to his demands’ with MJF revealing to Ariel Helwani that he received a significant pay increase. Dave Meltzer reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that MJF is now believed to be earning more than $1 million per year in AEW, with MJF not believed to have signed an extension.

MJF has been part of AEW since its inception, signing a five-year deal with the company in January 2019. Since then he has become one of the promotion’s biggest stars, and has had bloody rivalries with the likes of CM Punk and Wardlow, amongst others.
