Report: Update On Next WWE Draft
When will WWE hold another draft?
Since Triple H took charge of WWE creative, there have been rumblings about when the next WWE draft could take place, with many assuming Triple H will want to shake up the Raw, SmackDown, and possibly even NXT rosters.
It was reported earlier this year that a draft was set to go ahead in September after Clash at the Castle but was ultimately scrapped, and a new report from Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio claims WWE have held discussions about waiting until WrestleMania 39 has taken place in April before contemplating a draft.
Meltzer confirmed that earlier discussions had taken place regarding a draft in September or October 2022 and that "a date that was even talked about at one point" but WWE ultimately didn't follow through with their plans.
The last WWE Draft took place in October 2021, the sixteenth overall in WWE history. The draft was first introduced in 2002 after the conclusion of the Invasion angle, with WWE’s roster fit to burst thanks to the addition of WCW and ECW talents after both those companies went out of business and were subsequently bought by WWE.
