Report: Update On Piper Niven Following Reveal She Is Not Cleared To Compete

Piper Niven is set for a brief spell on the sidelines. 

WWE official Adam Pearce revealed on Monday Night Raw that Niven was not cleared to compete which meant her tag team partner Chelsea Green would be in singles action on the show. Green ended up facing Raquel Rodriguez and she was defeated within 100 seconds by the former NXT Women's Champion. 

Niven won't be out of action for long, though, with Fightful Select reporting that Niven is dealing with a short-term illness and she will hopefully be back on WWE TV in a week or two if her recovery goes well. There are currently no plans to vacate the WWE Women's Tag Team Titles or to move one of the belts off Niven. 

Niven only recently returned to WWE TV, resurfacing on the August 14 edition of Monday Night Raw when she bullied her way into becoming Chelsea Green's new tag team partner and one-half of the WWE Women's Tag Team Champions in the process. Green originally won the titles with Sonya Deville but Deville was ruled out of action after sustaining a torn ACL. 

Green and Niven have teamed together once so far, defeating Katana Chance and Kayden Carter on the August 21 episode of Raw.
