Report: Update On Rhea Ripley's WWE Main Roster Call-Up

She debuted on the main roster at the Royal Rumble

Rhea Ripley entered her second Royal Rumble match on Sunday at #14. The Nightmare put in an impressive performance by eliminating seven other Superstars and she was one of the final two participants before being dumped over the top rope by winner Bianca Belair.

Mike Johnson of PWInsider reported the Royal Rumble was considered Ripley's official debut on the main roster. If she will be a Raw or SmackDown Superstar has yet to be decided, though, and WWE is still contemplating which brand The Nightmare will be assigned to. She failed to appear on this week's Monday Night Raw and Johnson noted she isn't scheduled to be on Friday's SmackDown.

Since signing with WWE in 2017, Ripley has enjoyed successful runs in both NXT UK and NXT. She was crowned the inaugural NXT UK Women's Champion in November 2018 and held the title for 44 days before dropping the belt to Toni Storm at NXT UK TakeOver: Blackpool.

Ripley then moved to the black and gold brand in August 2019 and ended the year as NXT Women's Champion. She would hold the title until WrestleMania 36 before losing to Charlotte Flair. Ripley has admitted she lost her confidence after the 'Mania match, but she has since recovered and ended her NXT run with widely-praised matches against the likes of Raquel Gonzalez and Io Shirai.
