Report: Update On Sasha Banks & Naomi's Status For WWE SmackDown

After they walked out of Monday Night Raw earlier this week, some wondered if Sasha Banks and Naomi would return to the company for tonight's SmackDown taping from Grand Rapids, Michigan. 

The Women's Tag Team Champions seemingly won't be back for the show, though, and Mike Johnson of PWInsider reported that while Jimmy Uso is in Michigan for tonight's event, Naomi did not travel with him. Sasha Banks, meanwhile, was seen on a flight from Orlando to Minneapolis, Minnesota, on Thursday.

Only one match has been announced for SmackDown so far which will pit RK-Bro and The Usos against each other in a tag team title unification match. 

Naomi and Sasha Banks walked out of WWE Raw on Monday, leaving the Women's Tag Team Championships on John Laurinaitis' desk following a meeting with Vince McMahon. The pair's issues came from the company's creative plans for them, something which Vince McMahon refused to budge on, and they ultimately decided to leave the building. 

WWE's plans would have seen Naomi win a Six-Pack Challenge on Raw ahead of losing a Raw Women's Title match to Bianca Belair at Hell In A Cell. Sasha Banks, meanwhile, would have been defeated by Ronda Rousey in a bout for the SmackDown Women's Championship. 

As the Women's Tag Team Champions, Naomi and Banks were frustrated about the belts and the division as a whole being de-emphasised.
