Report: Update On The Undertaker's Plans For His American Badass Persona In WWE

Will we ever see the trench coat again...

The Undertaker kickstarted his feud with AJ Styles at Super ShowDown after he defeated The Phenomenal One to win the Tuwaiq Mountain Trophy. He competed in Saudi Arabia as The Deadman but by WrestleMania 36, Taker had embraced the return of his American Badass persona for the first time since he was buried alive at Survivor Series 2003. Elements from Mark Calaway's life were used throughout the rivalry, including repeated references to his wife Michelle McCool.

Fans had clamoured for the return of The American Badass for many years, and according to WrestleVotes, his appearance in the Boneyard match at The Showcase Of The Immortals wasn't just a one-off. Although The Phenom teased he was now retired earlier this week, WrestleVotes revealed three sources within WWE have told them The Undertaker will remain as his 2000-2003 persona for the foreseeable future.

When The American Badass will next appear remains to be seen, but Taker will keep taking souls and digging holes for a little while longer.

WrestleVotes tweeted: "All indications from three different sources I've spoke to believe that whenever we see The Undertaker next, it will indeed be this new ABA style Taker from "The Boneyard" match this past Saturday."
