Report: Update On WWE Money In The Bank Plans For Austin Theory

What could WWE do with Austin Theory's Money In The Bank cash-in?

Austin Theory has been Mr. Money In The Bank since winning the namesake ladder match in early July and while he has repeatedly tried to cash in the MITB briefcase for a title match, he has consistently failed to do so.

Theory's failures could be set to continue until well into 2023, though.

In a new report, WrestleVotes told GiveMeSport that a pitch for Theory would see him hold onto the MITB briefcase until next year's Money In The Bank pay-per-view. The storyline would then feature him having to cash in the briefcase before the show ends.

"There is an idea that he is the first guy to wait a full year, like the day of or let's say night of Money in the Bank next year. That's the storyline, like 'you have to cash this in in two and a half hours. You have to cash this in in 90 minutes.' That type of thing. I know that idea is on the table," WrestleVotes said.

A number of WWE talents have held onto the briefcase for several months since the concept was established in 2005 but no talent has waited a whole year to cash in.
