Report: Update On WWE NXT Moving To Tuesday Nights

Another twist in the tale

The story of NXT's move to Tuesday nights took another turn recently, following a report from Mike Johnson of PWInsider

Johnson noted WWE's internal production schedule for April 2021 lists NXT as a Tuesday event for each week after WrestleMania 37. The first episode of the black and gold brand on Tuesday nights will be on April 13.

WWE has yet to officially announce the change, but the updated production schedule suggests the move is considered all but done internally.

News of NXT moving to Tuesday nights first emerged at the beginning of March. Doubts around the move emerged soon after following reports that NBCUniversal and NHL were "far apart on money" during their negotiations over a new TV deal, but WWE and USA Network will seemingly press ahead with the change regardless of the Ice Hockey talks.

NXT's move to Tuesday nights brings the promise of improved ratings for the black and gold brand. They have often struggled when head to head with AEW: Dynamite, but a previous two-week stint on Tuesdays in early September 2020 led to a 25 percent boost in viewership. The WWE brand also enjoyed a similar increase when unopposed on Wednesdays.
