Charlotte Flair has been conspicuous by her absence from WWE Raw in the last couple of weeks, with 'The Queen' revealing on social media on Monday evening that she was recovering from COVID-19.

Flair's confirmation of her battle with coronavirus gave context to what had developed into a mess of rumours around her situation. Some suggestions were that her absence was related to her fiancée, Andrade, who has been given his release from his WWE contract. But that is not the case.

Despite the news of her COVID-19 diagnosis breaking on Monday, PWInsider is reporting that Flair had actually tested positive previously, hence why she missed a number of WWE television shows.

It had been noted that Flair had also been removed from WrestleMania 37 promotional material, with the report going on to say that WWE took her off the posters and adverts as a precaution, in case Flair was not cleared in time to be inserted into a match at the event.

There had been some talk backstage that Flair could return to programming at this week's Smackdown, despite being a Raw superstar. Andrade previously suggested that there were only a few days to go until she could be cleared, which would align with appearing on the blue brand this week.

Flair was originally slated to be involved in the Raw Women's Championship picture at WrestleMania 37, initially versus Lacey Evans and then Asuka, but with both title pictures set for 'The Showcase Of The Immortals', it remains to be seen what WWE decide to do with her at the event, should she be cleared in time.
