A new report has provided an update on WWE's return to India, after it was reported last week that the company was set to visit the country for a show in January.

PWInsider have now confirmed that the show will take place on January 18 at the Gachibowli Indoor Stadium in Hyderabad. The venue was built in 2002 and has a capacity of 5,000 people.

The report added that the show will feature mostly SmackDown branded talent and that WWE have not officially announced the show.

WWE's last show in India was a non-televised live event in New Delhi on December 9, 2017. It was headlined by Triple H beating Jinder Mahal. The company had previously toured the country in 1996, 2002, and 2016.

In 2019, Paul 'Triple H' Levesque stated that WWE would eventually open a Performance Center in India.

In 2021, WWE presented Superstar Spectacle, which featured many of the company's Indian talents (and developmental prospects) and aired on Indian Republic Day. WWE later claimed that 20 million people watched the show, which aired on the WWE Network and on Sony Pictures Network channels in India.
