Report: Vince McMahon "Most Likely" To Face Pat McAfee At WWE WrestleMania 38

Would be Vince's first match in 12 years

A program between Vince McMahon and SmackDown color commentator Pat McAfee is apparently in the works for WrestleMania 38.

Post Wrestling has reported that McMahon and McAfee are expected to have a match at WrestleMania, which would be McMahon's first since losing to Bret Hart at WrestleMania 26 back in 2010.

On Friday's SmackDown, it was announced that McMahon would appear on The Pat McAfee Show this Thursday at noon EST. It will be McMahon's first live interview since the one he did with Steve Austin in 2014.

The 76-year-old McMahon has done physical angles since that match with Hart, including a brawl with CM Punk in 2012, and getting attacked by Kevin Owens in 2017.

Former NFL punter McAfee has been an announcer on the SmackDown brand since April of last year. His association with WWE dates back to 2018, where he began work as a talking head for NXT TakeOver pre-shows.

In 2020, McAfee entered into a feud with Adam Cole, which culminated in the two being on opposite sides of the ring for two matches later that year. He had previously trained to be a wrestler under the guidance of Rip Rogers.
