Report: Vince McMahon "Pushed Through" Brock Lesnar Vs. Omos At WWE WrestleMania 39

Vince McMahon is seemingly back in WWE creative

What many fans feared appears to have become a reality.

Brock Lesnar was reportedly originally scheduled to face Bobby Lashley at WrestleMania 39, a match which looked set to take place at the show after Lashley defeated his opponent by DQ at Elimination Chamber following a Low Blow from Lesnar. Instead, however, Lesnar was hastily moved to a programme with Omos, with The Beast accepting his challenge on this week's Raw to set up a clash at the Showcase of the Immortals.

The nature of the match prompted speculation that Vince McMahon was more involved in WWE creative than initially believed, and that looks to be the case as WrestleVotes tweeted: "I'm told the highly anticipated, very compelling Brock Lesnar vs Omos WrestleMania matchup was the idea of one specific, powerful person who pushed it through."

The tweet was accompanied by a GIF of Vince McMahon putting on sunglasses, signalling the Executive Chairman is once again involved in creative to the extent that he can "push through" matches. It has been stated by WWE since McMahon's return that Triple H retains the final say on creative as Chief Content Officer.

Vince McMahon was previously the head of WWE creative for decades until he resigned as WWE CEO and Chairman in the summer of 2022 amidst a sexual misconduct and hush money scandal. He forced his way back into WWE in January 2023 to pursue a sale of the company, being elected as Executive Chairman.
