Report: WWE Considered Brock Lesnar Vs. GUNTHER For WrestleMania 39

The talks didn't go very far

WWE at least considered the idea of Brock Lesnar taking on GUNTHER at WrestleMania 39, according to a new report.

The WrestleVotes Twitter account (via GiveMeSport) noted: "I saw the rumours, and I know it was discussed, but it didn't get very far. It wasn't ever set in stone" with regards to a meeting between The Beast Incarnate and Der Ring General.

On this past Monday's episode of Raw, it was confirmed that Lesnar will face off against Omos at the Showcase of the Immortals instead. GUNTHER, meanwhile, looks set for an Intercontinental Title showdown with Drew McIntyre (in the likely event he is still champion come WrestleMania time).

GUNTHER has previously talked about how much he would like to have a match with Brock, who he considers his 'end boss'. The two were involved in a very brief exchange in the 2023 Royal Rumble match, which some believed may have been foreshadowing a future showdown.

WWE officials are reportedly very high on the 35-year-old at present, with suggestions that he could be in line for a future world title run.
