Report: Why AEW Rampage Will Remain On TNT Revealed

Keeping Rampage on TNT

While both of All Elite Wrestling's weekly TV series were originally set to move to TBS in 2022, it was announced on September 23 that Rampage will remain on TNT while Dynamite will still switch networks next year. Rampage will continue to air at 10 pm ET on Friday nights.

According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, TNT were surprised by how well Rampage has done in the 10 pm timeslot. Tony Khan also liked the idea of having AEW programming on both TNT and TBS, so the decision was made to keep Rampage on its current network. Rampage will also be mostly unaffected by preemptions, unlike Dynamite on Wednesday nights.

Rampage has been a big positive for TNT so far and the previous show in the 10 pm timeslot only averaged a 0.14 rating in the key 18-49 demographic. Rampage so far has often doubled that viewership in the key demo, such as with the September 17 show that averaged a 0.28 rating, according to Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics.

Meltzer also noted that AEW and TNT decided to keep Rampage on the network weeks ago, but they delayed the announcement to capitalise on the increased publicity from the promotion's tapings at New York City's Arthur Ashe Stadium on September 22.
