Report: Why Brock Lesnar Didn't Return At WWE Money In The Bank Revealed

Brock Lesnar instead returned on WWE Raw

Brock Lesnar returned to TV screens on the July 3 edition of Monday Night Raw, making his first appearance on WWE TV in over a month. The former Universal Champion interrupted Cody Rhodes on Raw as he was about to set himself out as the next challenger for the World Heavyweight Championship, with the two men brawling before Rhodes stood tall after a Cody Cutter.

Rumours before Money in the Bank noted that Lesnar was expected to make his return at the July 1 pay-per-view but the show at The O2 in London came and went without an appearance from Brock.

According to WRKD Wrestling, there was no Lesnar appearance at Money in the Bank because the belief within WWE was Lesnar's return would have been diminished since Drew McIntyre and John Cena were already set to make their own returns at the pay-per-view.

"Plans had changed before Money In The Bank, with McIntyre and Cena returning, the thought process was that Brock's return would be diminished after multiple other surprises in the evening. Brock has instead returned on #WWERaw," WRKD Wrestling tweeted.

Brock Lesnar and Cody Rhodes are reportedly planned for a match at SummerSlam. Check out other matches scheduled for the show here.
