Report: Why Keith Lee Missed Recent AEW Dynamite Revealed

Keith Lee was absent from last week's AEW Dynamite

All Elite Wrestling had plans to use Keith Lee on the June 7 edition of Dynamite but the former NXT Champion's appearance on the show ended up being scrapped.

Dynamite last week emanated from Colorado Springs, Colorado and Lee was booked to appear on the show in some capacity, Fightful Select has reported. The Limitless One ultimately suffered from travel and logistical issues that prevented him from appearing on Dynamite, however.

What Lee was scheduled to do on Dynamite was not revealed but the 38-year-old likely would have been involved in the opening segment of the taping. Orange Cassidy defeated Swerve Strickland to retain his AEW International Championship in the opening contest of Dynamite and Orange was attacked by Mogul Embassy following the match, at which point the lights in the arena went out before Sting and Darby Allin appeared to make the save for Orange.

An appearance from Lee in that segment would have likely been used to set up Keith's match on the June 14 edition of Dynamite that saw him team with Sting, Orange Cassidy, and Darby Allin to defeat Swerve Strickland, Brian Cage, Kaun, and Toa Liona.

Lee has been locked in a feud with Strickland since Swerve turned on his then-tag team partner back in December 2022. The two men have yet to face off in singles action, though, with a planned match at Double or Nothing being scrapped.
